Bree Tomasel co-hosts ZM’s Bree & Clint weekdays from 3pm to 7pm. She also co-hosts reality show Celebrity Treasure Island and is starring in The Great Kiwi Bake Off Celebrity Treasure Island Special Mash-up Screening on TVNZ 1 on October 20th. Here she talks about self love, life hacks and fighting her inner saboteur.

If I wasn’t a broadcaster, I want to become a veterinarian. Actually, I don’t know if I could handle the emotional trauma or if I was smart. So maybe a dog walker?

My morning routine consists of getting ready for my radio show, walking my dog Whitney Houston, and making something different for breakfast every morning (I’m happy to change it up). It’s quite a boring morning routine – it’s time for BeReal, folks.

Presentation is not important for me because I’m an absolute minimal guy when it comes to getting ready for the day. I usually apply whatever is clean, apply my standard foundation, powder, brows, mascara and get my hair looking reasonably manageable and I’m ready for the day.

i feel my best when I wear artificial tan. What’s about putting on a fake tan that makes you feel like you can beat your way out of anything?

I keep myself fit and healthy by walking my dog. It gets me out of the house every day and forces me to exercise.

To stay mentally and emotionally healthy I FaceTime with my family back home in Australia. You are a huge support network for me. What were we doing before the world of FaceTime?

The best advice I’ve ever been told about life, if you don’t make someone else’s life better, you’re wasting your own.

The values I live by are, such a simple b*tch answer, but treat others how you would like to be treated. It’s simple but so effective and works in every situation.

When I get olderI realize that you are the only person who has to live your life every day, so do what makes you happy.

I suffer from imposter syndrome my whole career. As RuPaul would say, “You’re fighting your inner saboteur.” I’ve learned that you can be the best version of yourself if you can learn to listen at the right time, but then tune it out when it doesn’t serve you. It is not easy and there is still constant work to be done.

When walking is difficultI say to myself, “It can’t be as bad as when you were in Vietnam and the airline lost your luggage and you had to wash your only pair of underwear in the hotel sink for three days.”

The things that make me the happiest are my partner, dog and my family. Oh, and carbs… I’m Italian – so give me carbs and a glass of red wine and I’m good to go!

Sundayyou will find me sleeping

My best life hack rubs boiled eggs – hear me: toast with mayo, avocado, rub (yes rub) your boiled eggs on top. Finish off with some grated parmesan – thanks later!
