Woman makes $1 million a month by chewing ‘weird’ food on YouTube

A bodybuilder turned YouTube star rakes in millions by eating colorfully covered groceries.

Naomi McRae, known as HunniBee, has been creating Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) videos on the platform for five years and has garnered over seven million followers in the process.

Naomi told that mirror She makes over $1 million a month by eating “weird” food on camera and projecting the chewing noises onto her fans.

“In the beginning I only did classic ASMR. These included taps, close-up whispers, inaudible whispers, and random ASMR triggers,” she said. After gaining a cult following, she decided to pursue the craft full-time.

After exploring ASMR, Naomi realized there was a gap in the market and decided to start making “mukbang” videos – eating on camera.

Watch one of their videos here:

Her first mukbang video showed her making an “edible dish sponge” and chewing on it in front of the camera. The clip racked up over 1 million views in just a few days, prompting her to focus on her craft of eating weird foods.

“That’s when I decided I wanted to make a mukbang channel out of this,” the 27-year-old YouTube star explained. “After that, it only took me three months to reach my first 1 million subscribers.”

Since the “edible dish sponge,” Naomi has eaten items like edible hairbrushes and champagne bottles, to the delight of her devoted fans. “I absolutely love my job. I wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world,” Naomi said.

She also noted that her content reaches a wide range of viewers. “I get so many messages from moms telling me how much it helps their kids relax and fall asleep,” she said, adding, though she does get a few spooky requests from time to time.

“I’ve had a lot of requests for photos and videos of feet up to $5,000,” she continued. “Also someone asking to pay for me to go on skype and show them my feet but with completely different shoes.”

Some of the “sicker” requests included someone asking her to suck on a cucumber near the mic.

Due to the success of her channel, she was able to travel the world. Now she has a new outlook on life: “Before we started traveling I feel like we used to live in this ‘bubble’ and that was all we knew.”
