SEX, LIES & BETRAYAL – MEMOIRS OF A HOLLYWOOD STAR is coming to Melbourne for a Victorian premiere


After a hugely successful debut in Brisbane and sold-out shows in Adelaide, award-winning theater company JTM Productions is pleased to bring their critically acclaimed production of Sex, Lies & Betrayal – Memoirs of a Hollywood Star to Melbourne in a Victorian premiere.

With lavish vintage music, Hollywood’s glitzy world and behind-the-scenes scandals come to life in captivating detail in this slippery, truthful story by a 1940s Hollywood lead actress, best known only by her pen name “Miss Nightingale” awakened.

With popular theater actress Karla Hillam described as “sizzling-hot” and “every inch a Hollywood goddess” (Weekend Notes), this one-woman cabaret is “a show worth attending” (Nothing Ever Happens in Brisbane). “Hollywood in the 1940s was certainly glamorous. Secrets were rife, gossip was a way of life, and movie moguls ruled. ‘ said producer, writer and director Margaret Fisk AM. “It was exciting to bring Miss Nightingale’s memoir onto the stage. She certainly led a fascinating life, dirty little scandals and so on. Reading her memoirs I blushed because they are quite hot, but her story is really a story of love and loss, temptation and loneliness, and her journey and her sometimes questionable choices are something to deal with in my opinion many people can identify. ‘

The exquisite Tusk High Bar in Windsor is transformed into Miss Nightingale’s boudoir, and guests are encouraged to dress in their finest gown while enjoying a full experience of Hollywood, from decadent cocktails named after famous movie stars to a Hollywood-inspired menu.

Who is this mysterious Miss Nightingale? She is an adulteress, a seductress and a femme fatale who says everything; Stories of passion, pain and betrayal and in true form, Miss Nightingale knows where all the skeletons are buried and is not afraid of spilling the beans.

Performances are from January 13-21, 2022 at 8 p.m.
