Over 9,400 loan applications have been received, CM said

Punjab’s government has received more than 9,400 loan applications under the Punjab-Rozgar program, officials said on Friday, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

The prime minister was briefed on the Punjab-Rozgar program during the signing ceremony of a Rs 30 billion agreement between Punjab Small Industries Corporation and the Bank of Punjab. Under the agreement, the Bank of Punjab will provide more than 30 billion rupees to successful applicants on simple terms.

While being given the details to Buzdar, it was told that out of 9,428 applications, the government did not receive fees out of 6,138 applications, while 3,035 applications submitted their application fees.

The Prime Minister was also informed that Punjab Small Industries Corporation had processed 1,619 applications.

During the signing ceremony, the Punjab Prime Minister claimed the program was “the largest in Punjab” and added that it would keep more than 1.6 million people in work.

“Qualified youth who benefit from the Punjab Rozgar Scheme can provide employment for others,” said Buzdar. He added that the program would prove to be a game changer, calling it the government’s flagship project.

The program was launched earlier this month by Buzdar to promote entrepreneurship and employment in the province.

Those who apply for the program can receive loans of up to Rs one million if their business is based in Punjab.

The loan process has been simplified and interested young people can submit their applications via the PSIC portal, the Punjab Bank website or the Punjab Rozgar app.
