Is Cane Tejada really Lorenzo’s son?


Power Book II: Spirit has a whole new cast of characters in the power Universe. Although the series follows Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) as he balances his college student life with his double life as drug dealers, the series also focuses on the criminal Tejada family.

Tejada matriarch Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) is cold, calculated and black-hearted. Although her husband Lorenzo (Berto Colon) is in jail, he is equally threatening and calculated. However, their eldest son Cane (Woody McClain) is possibly the most ruthless of the group.

While his siblings Diana (LaToya Tonodeo) and Drew (Lovell Adams-Gray) know and understand life, Cane lives from the violence and the predatory nature of it. As the first season of Power Book II: Spirit Pushed forward, fans became increasingly suspicious that Cane wasn’t actually Lorenzo’s son.

What happens to Cane Tejada in Season 1 of Power Book II: Ghost?

When the first season of Power Book II: GhosAfter opening, Cane immediately presents himself as a cold-blooded archenemy. Cane is an unscrupulous killer with an inconsistent temper. Cane becomes increasingly out of joint the closer Tariq is drawn into the inner circle of the family.

Disgusted by his mother’s affair with a filthy NYPD officer and determined to prove that he is the obvious choice to run the family business, Cane defies his mother and earns his father’s wrath, who is eventually pushed out of his own family becomes.

Determined to get what’s his due, it is clear in Season 2 that Cane is after blood.

Cane Tejada may not be Lorenzo’s son

While Cane is just as vicious as his parents, he doesn’t really look like them. Monet is black while Lorenzo is Puerto Rican. Although Drew and Diana appear to be mixed races, Cane appears to be completely black. While skin color isn’t a specific criterion, there are other things that suggest he may not be Lorenzo’s son.

During an argument in season one, Cane accidentally beats Monet. When Lorenzo learns about this, he hires prison guards to beat up Cane. After he’s done, he towers over Cane and says, “Don’t ever put your hands on my wife again.”

Fans believe this statement is indicative of Cane’s parentage.

Cane Tejada is not the son of Kanan Stark

While the secret behind Cane’s parentage still lingers, Kemp has revealed that he is not the son of Kanan Stark (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson). After all, Monet is from Brooklyn and Kanan is from Queens, so the timeline wouldn’t even match.

On an Instagram Live, Kemp revealed that Cane is just a nickname for the character. Cane’s real name is Lorenzo Tejada, Jr. “As a kid, he ran around the house so much that he acted like a hurricane,” she said.

Although Kemp confirmed that Kanan is definitely not Cane’s biological father, she did not confirm that he was Lorenzo’s son. We know more secrets of the Tejada family will come to light when Power Book II: Spirit Season 2 debuts.
